Project Asia - Life at Semarang, Indonesia

This first month was awesome. I had the privilege to sleep at an orphan house full of young great kids.
They all taking care for each other and have so much fun. My eyes caught so many wonderful things here.
The people here in Indonesia are friendly, polite but most of all there very humble.

On short time I met so many people.
I had all kinds of oppurtunities to share my talent, person and passion. From restaurant to football fields.
At Semarang they have several football academies. One of them is Terang Bangsa where I was invited
to train coaches and players. One of my first words here, saying; 'inspire people' came true at
the football fields of Terang Bangsa. Everyone is doing freestyle. I saw players,
coaches and even parents trying to do tricks with the ball. A great experience to be here.

Well, that's it for now. Up for a busy schedule at Singapore. Thanks Semarang for having me.
Sampai Jumpa.

Project Asia - Welcome to the jungle, Singapore

Welcome to the jungle, Singapore! When you travel from Indonesia to a place like Singapore it's a whole different world. Singapore is a fine and modern city where all kinds of cultures come together.

When I was young I literally dreamt of performing in a stadium. After that dream was realized I thought every dream can come true. It's a matter of stepping in faith with both feet and turning your dreams into goals. Here in Singapore one of my goals came true. I had many opportunities to share my talents, story and passion with all groups of people; from prison to schools. Saw young talents get inspired, stepping out of their comfort zone, putting shame aside and showing their qualities proudly.

When I look at the people here at Singapore. I see that they have much respect for one another. Doesn't matter where you're from, what you do or what your religion is. Singapore is a clean state with many rules. If it isn't a habit their is a penalty for it. It's like they are living and thinking inside the box. People say; 'The only way to get succesful is to be educated. They aren't taught to do what's fun. Every day I tried something new. Tried eating with chopsticks, and having different food, fruits and drinks. One of the popular fruits in Singapore is Durian. I can tell you that it's the worst fruit I've ever eaten. Well, at least I tried..

Tomorrow I will leave to Jakarta, Indonesia and Wednesday to East Timor. Looking forward! Would it be a quite simalar jungle?  Many thanks to team FootballPlus Singapore. Hope to see you all soon!

Project Asia - Up up and away, Thailand

Project Asia - Thailand

These last months I've been traveling a lot through Indonesia, The Netherlands and Thailand.
On every place I got many opportunities to reach out to kids and younger people. To inspire and motivate them.Using the ball as a metaphor; 'Make it teamplay and share your qualities'. Project Asia, let's go!

I feel really blessed to get an opportunity like this and realize I'm one of the few. But at the same moment I know that blessing is in the action. You have to step out and try new things. When I travel around I see pore and rich, weak and strong, tuff and humble people. I see that freestyle is only one talent to create a way to speak to another man's heart. For everbody it's different. For one it is trough respect, another is amazed and another one is curious why some forreigner from the other side of the world is doing freestyle out here.

At the moment I'm working with a team in ChiangMai, Thailand. Making plans and preparation for my next visit. Also here I'm having a precious time. The language is harder than ever before, but that doesn't hold us back from what we like to share. I learned that; 'Sport is a language without words'.
Here a video of my time at Thailand. Enjoy!

Project Asia - Down Under, Australia

When I first started Project Asia, I had in mind to travel around Indonesia and Singapore.
My intention was to help all kinds of organisations, companies, groups, teams and people by simply
sharing my talents. I started this project by booking a single ticket to Indonesia instead of Australia and by this way stepping out of my comfort zone with a big leap of faith and a network ahead of me. Now when I look back after 8 months of traveling back and forth to The Netherlands and through Asia, I can certainly say; it has widened my horizons.

What I've experienced so far is indescribable. My first trip to Australia was amazing. I had the privilege of
helping at the soccercamps of Ambassadors Football working together with several teams, wonderful
kids and enthusiastic coaches.

With such a positive experience over the last few months I'd like to continue Project Asia.
I welcome more sponsors! If you would like to have more information about
Project Asia or how you can get involved, please write to me at info@freestylerjosh.nl

Tomorrow heading back to The Netherlands to start a new project!
Enjoy the video of my visit to the land Down Under!
